Commitment Class at CPC provides 9th graders the unique opportunity to gather for fun and friendship as they dig into what it means to be a lifelong follower of Christ and a member of a church. Through small groups, retreats, service opportunities, and supportive mentorship, 9th graders deepen their faith commitments. Upon completing Commitment Class, students have the opportunity to become members of CPC.

Weekly Programming

Wednesdays

7:45-9PM

Each week of the school year, students meet in Anderson Hall for a time of group games, Bible-based teaching, and small groups. During small groups, our adult leaders support students as they process their questions, doubts, and curiosities about life and faith.

Once a month, 9th graders combine with 10th-12th graders for an all-high-school-ministry large group and worship.

Commitment Class Highlights

Summer Camp: Quest

Quest is a summer camp just for our incoming 9th graders. Students live on houseboats for the week and explore Voyageurs National Park—tubing, fishing, stargazing, and strengthening their connections with Christ and one another.

Mission Benton Harbor

Every summer, incoming 9th – graduated 12th graders are invited to live out their faith through an impactful week of service, learning, and community-building.

Join us for a week in Benton Harbor, Michigan as we partner with YouthWorks and local organizations to serve the city across age and racial divides. In the evenings, our group will tour the community and learn about the fine arts revitalization in Benton Harbor from a community friend.

Annual Retreats

Each fall and spring, we host a retreat for 9th graders. The fall retreat takes place at CPC, and the spring retreat—which is required for membership—takes place at Castaway YoungLife Camp.

Worship Experience

Every January, students attend worship with their small groups at a local church different from CPC so they can learn how the Gospel is moving across the Twin Cities.
