ElderS

Meet the Class of 2028 Elders.

Aakash Chandarana
My journey with CPC started as a non-believer over fourteen years ago. We were trying to start our family, and my wife wanted to re-connect with her faith and I wanted to support her. As I sit here today it is hard to believe I was reluctant at best to attend church regularly. Since that time, God has pursued me and ultimately changed my heart posture and transformed my life. Today, I feel fortunate that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and look forward to being with my brothers and sisters in Christ at CPC every Sunday. I feel blessed that I have been able to serve our church as a musician on the Contemporary Worship Team for seven years; that my children have grown up with CPC as their church; and that my family’s faith has collectively grown through the community we have at CPC. I am excited to see what God has in store for our church and am honored to serve CPC as an elder.

My hope for this world is found in Jesus. I can’t fathom life without my faith and His model to guide me.  And although I fail every day, I keep going back to my litmus test - “How well did you love others today, Eli?”. As you can imagine, I’m a work in progress. CPC has been my church home since 2001. I was formerly Catholic and feeling spiritually malnourished when I was invited by a friend to attend CPC. Since then, my faith journey has been full of God’s “surprises”. I call them the “drip, drip, drips” that He reveals in His own perfect timing. My first Mission trip was to Zambia in 2010 and I’ve since served on staff, in Missions and in Discipleship/Groups. But I have also been greatly supported and covered in prayer by CPC through my journey with breast cancer in 2013. When I remarried at CPC in 2014, my husband, Brian Fudenberg, joined as well and has since served as a Deacon and in Missions. Most recently we became CPC Marriage Mentors. I am SO grateful for CPC being such an integral part of our lives and faith journeys. Now, we invite others to join us at CPC every chance we get with the hope they can come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I am very humbled, honored and excited to continue serving in this new and very significant way.

I am so grateful to God that we found CPC over 10 years ago. We were searching for a community where we could raise our young kids in the Christian faith and CPC has far exceeded our expectations! From the amazing childcare program on Sundays to Wednesday night kid’s programming, we (especially the kids) love the CPC community. Our whole family has volunteered at Alpha on the hospitality team for the last two years and it is our favorite night of the week where we get to serve food and drink while helping others come closer to Jesus. My wife, Genna, has participated in Moms Morning and been a deacon in the past. I’ve definitely come much closer to God through a group called Pam90 that does early morning workouts followed by prayer (typically led by Mike Bireley, a CPC Elder) on Mondays and Wednesdays. Many of these men in Pam90, including myself, are also part of a Friday morning men’s bible study group which is organized by Matt Norman (another CPCer). With all these avenues filling me up with the love of Christ, I feel more equipped than ever to give back to CPC and the community. I’m excited for the future of CPC and honored to serve as an Elder.

My husband Todd and I joined CPC in 1997 and have been blessed to count it as our spiritual home ever since. CPC welcomed us with open arms from the very first service we attended, and we love how there are so many on ramps for people to discover faith in Jesus. I've been blessed to learn and serve alongside people of all generations through Bible studies, mission trips, VBS, teaching at Sunday Morning Communities, service projects, Alpha, greeting at funerals, and so much more. One of the greatest joys was being able to watch our three adult daughters grow in their faith not only through programming and relationships from Kids to College, but with opportunities to serve and lead at each stage of their development. I can't imagine life without Jesus, and am so grateful for the opportunity to serve as an elder and come alongside our staff and congregation as together we seek to follow the Spirit's leading. Looking forward with great anticipation to how God will continue to move in and through the body at CPC!
