Why did it matter that Jesus had to die, and why did the way that he died matter?  Most of us can articulate that Christ died in order to save us by taking the consequences of our sins on himself.  However, we still find it hard to explain why this is how God chose to save the world, specifically why he chose to die on a cross, and what impact the Cross has on our community and the world as whole.  Leading up to Holy Week and Easter, we’re going to take time to explore what the Bible has to say about the cross to realize the depth of what we were saved from (and for) and the love that compelled Christ to give his life for us.
