Are you discouraged by our divided, angry culture, where even listening to a different perspective sometimes feels impossible? In a tense cultural climate, is it possible to disagree productively and respectfully without compromising our convictions? Disagreement is hard: we tend to view our adversaries not only as wrong but as evil; we resist notions of forgiveness; we distrust institutions that try to mediate our disagreements. But what if a better way was possible?

Co-sponsored with CPC’s local mission partners Anselm House and Transform MN, join us for an evening with John Inazu and Sara Groves, where they will dialogue about John’s new book, Learning to Disagree: The Surprising Path to Navigating Differences with Empathy and Respect. John is a law professor at Washington University in St. Louis. Sara is an award-winning singer-songwriter and co-founder of Art House North in St. Paul. Together, John and Sara collaborated on the 2020 volume, Uncommon Ground: Living Faithfully in a World of Difference which John coedited with Tim Keller, and Sara contributed a chapter from her perspective as a songwriter.

Dessert reception to follow.
