Breakout Sessions

Navigating Digital Landscapes

Our grandchildren are growing up as digital natives–they’ve never known a world without technology as part of everyday life. With the speed of change, it can be challenging to keep up with the ways that social media, apps, games, and more are being utilized by the kids we love. We will look at practical examples of some challenges faced across the childhood, teen, and young adult stages. Drawing on a biblical worldview, we will explore wise guidance to help grandparents engage in crucial conversations driven by hope rather than fear and anxiety.

Boundaries, Expectations & Other Challenges Grandparents Face

Maybe you’ve heard, “We don’t want you to give them any sweets!” or  “Oh by the way, we can’t make it to the family reunion this year.”  Emotions sometimes run on steroids. Traditions and making happy memories are what our hearts most desire during family times. We will explore skills for making relationships with our grandchildren (and their parents) less stressful, more enjoyable, and more Christ-centered.

The Belmont: Training Up a Child around Spiritual, Character & Financial Capital

Describing the realities of the greatest wealth transfer in the history of the world happening right now, this session will identify priorities, obstacles, and options for generational transfers by grandparents leaving a Kingdom legacy.
